One thing we have learned in China… What NOT to drink!
While we are busy preparing for our family summer leave, I can’t but help and think about what Chris has in store for himself while we are gone. From spinner dinners, (A wide array of "interesting" food placed on a lazy susan), to smoke filled meetings (Yes they still smoke at meetings here!) and the infamous GANBEI!!!
Ganbei translates to "Empty Cup" and it is a frequent toast at business dinners
One of the games the locals like to play is "Let's see if we can get the foreigner sick"
Fortunately Chris had a lot of practice with this in college and has managed to hold his own.
Move over Tequila… her comes Chinese Fire Water! known locally as Baijiu and pronounced Bai Joe.
Will the West embrace China’s “paint thinner” liquor… I think NOT!
It's 110 proof, it smells like fuel, and it feels like "a liquid lobotomy" — yet it's supposedly the world's most popular spirit.
They call it BAIJIU!!! which translates to White Liquor.
A pretty fitting name once you have tried it. Kind of what I think moonshine must have tasted like during Prohibition.
We will be saying good bye to Shanghai for 6 weeks this summer… while it is nice to be home, it is a city that will be missed… until we return!
We wrapped up our school year, washed our backpacks and stuffed them into the closets… We even ended the Sluggers season with a win!
Looking forward to next season… Will continue to master the tongue hit & the tongue catch…
Heres to SUMMAH!!!!
