As much as I love the beach, I have grown to realize that just being around water in general rocks. There are so many lakes in New Hampshire and Maine and we were lucky enough to spend some time on Little Sebago this summer. Life is truly simple at the lake! No one is on their devices and we spend most of our days outside. We are so blessed to enjoy our life long friends here and have memories to last a lifetime.
Back at the ranch… the kids entertain themselves making each other up. I remember doing this with my sister… I was lucky enough to have Jen do my hair and make up for every prom. I think Ayden gets her girly ways from Jen and Jordan definitely is more “tom boy” from me…
I was offered a make over tonight.. but couldn’t decide on the hussy tramp look or the sports jack hammer lipstick look. Both looks would have paired well with my poolside chardonnay!
My motto has always been Sisters Rock… having a bond with your siblings is special. I love that they get along so well (most the time) and even with Garrett - there are always a lot of laughs…
we are definitely very very lucky!
Camping 2016: LOVED it and nailed our camp resort assembly in record time and with optimal team work. by the kids and I (Chris drove up later). However the torrential downpour that hit during the night was a bit of an adventure downer. But we will be back No doubt!!!
Our second FFFT (Fun Family Field trip) this summer was to Gloucester. I was dying to see the town that the book, The Perfect Storm was based on. We saw the bar the men frequented and explored the downtown.
Bella will do anything for a snuggle…
We are always trying to seek out different things to do during the summer… we found a couple of very cool Apple camps that taught the kids how to be creative with iBooks and iMovies. It was hysterical what they created. All of them independently chose to do their stories on our #1 fur kid, Bella.
Of course you can’t forget the town day camp! Daniella and Ayden doing what they do best… Having fun!! This year, Jordan was in her second year of being a counselor. They love to ride their bikes and hang out with their friends from school.
We stopped off in town to visit one of my good friends who opened her cool new restor/painting business. She rocks at it! Toni is one of my kids favorite people and visiting her at the store is always fun!
Our Bella… (seriously cannot get enough of posting pictures of my babe)
My cool chick by the pool… love having a resort outside our back door. This is my cabana girl taking my order…
Fun family field trip — to the trails! My crew always up for an adventure!
We all still fit!!! Makes for driving carpool fun!
We don’t get as many beach days as we did when we lived in Florida so we take full advantage of our nicer days in New England. Can’t say we spend a lot of time in the frigid water… cannot get use to the fact that it is so cold even in the middle of summer, but the sand and sea air is just as refreshing!
Her entire life, she has had a ball in her hand… we think she is part lab.. always up to play ball. She has a great teammate in Bella!
One of those rare moments that being this close isn’t so prickly.
When I get my camera out and say line up for a picture… this is how they always situate themselves.
Love their smiles!!
Garrett & Ayden are always together… They are the best of pals (most of the time)
Cannot get used to seeing her get older… Jordan is one of the hardest working people I know. A lot of her athleticism comes naturally, but if it doesn’t she will die trying.
Testing the waters on strength… Jordan wanted the top role this time!
Moving back to New England for us means moving back to life long friends. We live within 30 miles to all of these guys, but the lake 2 hours away is where we find ourselves gathering. These are the best days of our summer…
The ice cream man by boat… this young man circles the lake every day delivering ice cream to earn money for college. Genius!!!
The long dog days of summer… wish we lived them all year…
