Rockin March...

Woke up one morning and thought I would attempt to start the potty training process with Ayden. She immediately got on board with her new "skibies" we set out to purchase at Target. I will catch her pulling up her dress at the library, grocery store or any other public place to show off her new
'skibs." As suspected... she caught on quick to our reward system... soon to realize that you don't GET the gummy bears unless you actually put something in the pot. Now I have Garrett and Jordan asking for gummy bears because THEY are going on the potty. Go figure. It is a work in progress and one phase I will be glad to have behind me.

We have had Gram and Coach nearby for the past couple of months and this has been a lot of fun. I even got to enjoy my niece, Ally for a couple of weeks. We will be heading over to Nana and Pop Pops house next week to visit the other cousins for spring break. Jordan has already stock piled my car with sporting equipment for the adventure. A girl after my own heart.

February Update... Garrett's BIG Month...

It was 3 years ago this month that we met Garrett in a small orphanage in Russia and it is significant that on the very day 3 years later, he made his first solo flight on his two wheeler. In an instant, we could see his wings spreading and and ear to ear smile. I have never heard someone laugh so hard while doing something that is so scary. This same month he also learned to pump on the swing and will spend hours out there singing to himself.

Jordan is playing hockey now and is as rough and tough as the boys. She does not skip a beat and I must admit … I love seeing a lot of me in her.


Ayden… oh Ayden. There is always one. Likes her hair down a certain way… likes to pick out her clothes and basically bosses everyone around. No one listens. When that happens, she just gets louder. I am happy that she is assertive, but relish the quiet hours of nap time.

Like most other months here in Florida, we have been spending a lot of time at the beach. We know that it won't be long when the kids aren't interested in the adventures they take with mom and dad, so we are trying to fit in as much as much as possible.

January Update... Bringing in 2009!

Starting off the New Year with your typical resolutions... none of which I have been able to keep. I am still late, drink daily and continue to be as forgetful as ever... even with making more lists.

I can say though, we have had a wonderful few months with family visiting and some great weather here in Florida. Jordan has demanded that she play hockey so we have now added that to the carpool list and Ayden has learned to speak her mind through words. We are not sure if this is such a good thing as we have grown very aware that perhaps her grunting in the past was not such a bad thing after all. Garrett is in the middle of these two divas and finding his way during the week as head man of the house. (Chris travels a lot)

We have so much to look forward to in 2009. Happy New Year to all!
