Garrett.... Garrett.... Garrett.....

I am not going to lie.... There are some kids that always seem to have a great time regardless of the circumstances and who they are with. I happen to live with someone that laughs at just about anything and everything. (Including MY jokes) For those that have been fortunate enough to be around Garrett know that his laughter is so contagious!
I wish we could bottle it! That way I can take it out when he is in full "tweak" mode!

Back to School!!!!

Can hardly believe summer has officially come to an end and school is back in session.
Garrett is finally in the "big" school going to Kindergarten with his sister, Jordan. I kept thinking he was going to be nervous but only one short pout was to be had when he realized that his assigned seat was next to two GIRLS!
Coming home he announced that he had the "BEST" day... we have grown to learn that he has a pretty solid crush on his teacher, Mrs. McCormack.
Jordan loved being the big second grader and as luck would have it... her room is only a few doors away from Garrett. It will be a relief to know that Garrett will get to his room safely having Jordan be his guide. (You never know sometimes with him as everything seems to entice him along the way.) Jordan loves her teacher as well and when we peaked in her room after dropping Garrett off, we noticed she was getting right to work with her studies.

Ayden also started her PreK class today. She is in the same class as her best friend Kaitlyn. Getting on this new schedule has been a bit challenging. I am back to setting my alarm much earlier then when I was getting up over the summer. I wish there were an invention where I can get infused with coffee a half hour before I actually have to get up. Ayden loves her teacher and is excited to be eating lunch at school. I was surprised that it only took her about an hour to pick out an outfit the night before.... which changed three times the next morning. I may have to get her an alarm clock too if this is going to be an ongoing problem. I have a hunch that it will....
Can't believe I have a few hours two days a week to myself!!!! I must admit, I was lost for a bit and even found myself trekking back to the car while running errands to make sure I didn't leave someone behind.
Sports kicked in the same week so I am back to living in my car.... I am most grateful for my secret stash of Swedish fish hidden in the center console and the DVD player Chris had installed this past year. It feels good to be back on a schedule but boy do I miss my lazy summer mornings and yes.... I even miss my kids!!!

End of the Summer Fun....

We finished off the summer at the beach until the bitter end. We spent the last two weekend spending time with our family and regrouping on the sand and in the surf.

We didn't really have anything concrete planned for the summer, but we managed to fill in the spaces with a lot of adventure. We spent the first part of our summer heading North to Charleston, South Carolina then the mountains of North Carolina. We then did a direct route to the beaches of Longboat Key. No matter what, we always seem to end up on sand. Busch Gardens was a huge hit... and even managed some day trips locally. There always seemed something to do.

What better way to finish up the summer ....

Then barefoot.... and sand between the toes....
