June Update .... 2010

We took on the Summer just as school got out. We headed out of the deep south to land first in Charleston for a few days. We spent some time visiting the Desciak Crew in the low country. It is hard to believe that I have two nephews soon old enough to drive.
We then took the Carey adventure north to the Smoky Mountains where we met up with Gram and Coach for a week of wilderness.

Much to our enjoyment, we have two kids that share in our passion of hiking. Jordan always goes with the flow and is athletic enough to do most anything. Garrett however, is the one that actually asks when we are going hiking or camping next. The jury is still out with Ayden. She made it about 10 feet up the steep mountain driveway with her plastic "glass" slippers and Cinderella gown on and decided it would be much more fun to pick the daisies instead.

The cabin was rustic and out of cell phone range... it was so nice to "unplug" for a week. The kids got to see fireflies for the first time. It was so great to see them running around trying to catch them. These simple moments are the ones I want to bottle up.

So summer has officially been kicked off....

Let the Adventures begin....

Garrett's Graduation from Preschool

We ended the school year with Garrett graduating from Preschool. It is still hard to believe that he is going into Kindergarten. It is amazing how much he has grown. Just a year ago you would have never caught him singing in public. He is belting out the songs here.

When we asked him if he was ready and excited for Kindergarten next year.... "Not yet," was his response, "I think I just need some time with you, you would miss me too much."

May.... Blazing HOT May!

We kicked off May walking for the the Relay for Life. It is a wonderful fundraiser that is near and dear to my heart. Jordan and I pulled our first all nighter. We had a fantastic night and I spent the next two weeks recovering. :)

We are closing in on the end of the school year and have several summer plans in place to celebrate. The kids are planning something big for my 40th this year. I have a hunch it has a mouse in Orlando involved. There are lots of giggles and secrets!!

Will keep you posted!
