The "Bucket List" A1A Marathon ~ Check!

It seems since the day I married Chris, we have had this ongoing unofficial "bucket list" going and were finally able to check off our list MARATHON!!! We started off the run together... constantly asking each other... "you ok... how do you feel?" Running with Chris is just easy! Because we didn't officially train for this event.... Showing up late for the race and not having enough pins to even affix our numbers to our shirts... we thought what the heck lets just do it! We had our Friday night wine the night before and went against the advice to drink tons of water the morning of the race by drinking our coffee as usual. We were just going to do the best we could. Chris signed up for the full marathon but was planning on only running the half. I of course was not going to let a little thing called training get in the way and was up for the adventure. It wasn't until we said our good byes at the turning point for the half marathon that I thought, what have I gotten myself into. I made the turn around and was heading back listening to some music mix Garrett put together for me when I saw Chris running toward me with a huge grin! HE WAS RUNNING THE FULL!!! I was sooo happy!! In the end, I crossed the finish line in 3 hours and 27 minutes. Not bad for a first marathon! Chris came in at 4 hours 20 minutes. The best moment for me wasn't finishing the race and accomplishing the event.... but watching Chris cross the finish line and running this race WITH him! Bucket List.... check!

Pools OPEN!!!

The pool is open all year around but it seems that this is the first time you can get in it without your lips turning blue!   I must admit... we are in the pool much earlier then the average Floridian, but the official "POOL OPEN" date is on the day that you get in on your own and not because you lost a bet.   Spring is here!

February Madness.... Daddy's Day with his daughters

Chris and Jordan had a special evening out at a father daughter dance.... It is not that often that Jordan will willingly put on a dress but for this special night out, she not only wore a dress but asked me to do her hair "special" for her Dad. I did offer some lip gloss as well.... she held up her hand and said, "UH...NO WAY!"

They had a great night out!

Ayden planned a special breakfast with her dad at school. I have never seen her more excited!!! She picked out her dress and was very specific with how she wanted her hair done. (Not that I am full of choices...) These are truly those moments that you need to grasp and hold onto tightly.

I may not be as good with hair as I am with paint. We spent one morning painting each others faces... Lets just say, my face didn't quite turn out like this and I spent the better part of the morning flushing my right eye out with saline....but we had a great time playing....

I am loving the days I have home with Ayden... I am glad I have one more year of preschool until I give her small wings off to kindergarten.
