Cannot believe it is January, but must admit, living in Florida January is really no different then any other month. Warm and sunny. I wish we could wake up one morning with the excitement that school may be cancelled for a "snow day." It just doesn't feel the same wishing for a main water pipe break or an electrical outage.
We are full tilt in winter/spring sports. I am the poster mom for overbooking Jordan. I had no idea that the sports all overlapped. I have become a pro at running on full tilt... and the kids keep me humble with all the silly jabs at my hair and clothing. Something had to give. I have found a lipstick that stays on for days and that yes, a hat is a cure.
As much as one child is overbooked, our Garrett is happiest playing at home and has always been very easy going. He played soccer and much to our surprise is actually quite fast. Next year we will work on having him run in the right direction.
As for Ayden... she enjoys going to the fields and has expressed a strong interest in playing soccer next year. It is hard to picture but with all the time we had to play on the sidelines together, I really believe she will be able to cast her frilly dresses and "fashion" shoes aside for a pair of cleats and get out there and play.
