February Update.... Burrrr!

Not quite sure what is going on in Florida, but we have certainly had a bit of a cold snap. We had to dig deep for some of our winter wear. Thankfully for us, Garrett wasn't too gender specific and was willing to make do with some of the pink hats he wore to keep warm. We lost power for for about four days as a result of the heating load over stressing some transformers and were forced into complete camping mode. They were such troopers and I think there was some sadness on their end when we finally regained power. Life just wasn't as fun without a headlight!

We have had the pleasure of having Gram and Coach nearby. This has been a new experience for everyone and we enjoy having family around us. They seem to mesh well into our busy lifestyle. It is a good thing that they are use to always being on the go. I know I am always late... and thankfully, Ann is there to tell me how "normal" this is when you have three kids.

Ayden is always in style... at least that is what she thinks. I dread later on in life... just the image of having her go through my closet and giving me a reality check on my fashion sense.... or lack there of. She is the first to notice when I have something new on or have gotten my haircut.

Jordan keeps us busy busy busy. Did I ever have the social life she seems to have at 7??? Is this really what I put my mom through? Now that I look back, I do remember my mom driving me everywhere.... and always being there for me. I can't even remember a single game that my parents weren't there to cheer me on. Life truly does come full circle.

The highlight of my February was sneaking away with my main squeeze for a week of skiing. I must admit, I was a bit nervous (skiing that is.) I hadn't been on skies in years! I was thrilled to have Chris all to myself, but even more so in the mountains of Colorado. We set out on day one and I am happy to report, it was like riding a bike. Easy to pick back up. I was very grateful to have my running come in handy. My stamina kept up with my nearly 40 year old body. It was awesome. We decided to change things up for our second day and we taught ourselves how to snowboard. You might be wondering why we do not have any pictures of our fabulous week together... that is due to the fact that we hurled our bodies at the mountain for two straight days on snowboards and our camera broke in the process. I have never been more humbled in my life with a sport, but I am thrilled to report that we held our own on the boards and found ourselves looking forward to getting back there for another day and will continue boarding in the future. I now know what a full body bruise feels like, but it was still exhilarating.... and I absolutely loved embarking on this adventure with my best friend.

Reality came back all too quickly.... but it was nice being missed by the gang. Jordan was a bit put out that we went without her. She is already plotting to put herself in for the trip next year. We are counting down the days.
