My sweet Bella couldn’t have come at a better time for me. Granted she is the family dog, but lets call it like it is… I’m the one that takes care of her. We have been settling into New England and in our second year here. No doubt, it has been a bit of a challenge blending in and getting use to the extreme rural town we have moved to. It is a drastic difference from the city life of Shanghai and I am not going to lie, I often feel very misplaced here. Thank God for my children who keep me laughing and entertained and even more so for our newest addition, Bella.
She gets me out and is unconditional about her love… I have read that owning a dog lowers peoples blood pressure and can even help with those days where nothing seem to go right. I have to admit, by nature I am a happy person… but happy really kicked it up a notch when B joined our family!!
I use to have to really push Ayden to read… not I find her laying with Bella and reading to her out loud.
Bella seems pretty agreeable with her book choices. These are the moments I need bottled.
To add a few pictures and stories before I add yet more pictures of Bella… I think my kids are beginning to feel like they are taking a back seat to my B. It doesn’t take much for us to celebrate, but without a doubt after 2 plus long years of having braces, Jordan finally got them off! Jordan has always had the best smile, even with braces…
We had a few warm days in MA that tricked us bad… woke up after a night of flurries to THIS!
As much as the winters drag on and on here, I can’t help but enjoy the peacefulness of fresh snow.
Who am I kidding… it’s getting old and I fear we aren’t going to be out of school until July!!!
The storm knocked out our power for awhile and thankfully we found a lot of entertainment that didn’t require electricity. It was a good thing we had the house pretty toasty before the power went out. The outage last two days and we were pretty ripe!
Back to Bella…
Bella loved the snow and we loved being able to see her better in the snow… We had to buy her a reflector light because we couldn’t see her at night.
She loves to be near people and it is a bonus if they like to nap!
She definitely likes to sleep a lot! Fits right in with Jordan’s weekend agenda!
I think Chris is starting to get jealous over her ability to drop and sleep anytime and anywhere!
I have to say, Bella also has the most tolerance for being in the audience for new instrument players. She didn’t seem to mind hearing the same cord played over and over again.
OK OK… back to the kids…
We Call Bella the black version of Ayden. Always happy, always willing to go for a drive, unconditional in her love, snuggly and just a tad gassy at the most inopportune times.
We had a snow day and decided to venture up to Stiles Pond, our swimming hole in the summer months. It was wild to see it completely frozen over and hard to believe that we will be swimming in this pond in three short months.
My professional and most reliable dog walker! I wonder what it is going to be like when Bella outweighs her!
We had a few “firsts” this year and wrestling was one of them for Garrett.
It was very hard for him to break into a sport that the kids seem to be doing for many years. Chris is helping with the coaching and it is a really nice thing for them to do together. I am not going to lie, I watch the matches through my fingers covering my eyes. I am all about doing things outside of your box and we are so proud of him for challenging himself with something new!
We live about 20 minutes from the beach. We never seem to live much further off the coast whether it was in Baltimore, MD; Branford, CT; Parkland, Fl; Shanghai, China or Boxford, MA. I was waiting for that warmer (about freezing) window to introduce Bella to the beach here.
I wasn’t going to let the cold weather stop me and my girl!
Crane’s Beach: February 2016. As suspected, she LOVED it!!!
